ASC Behaviour Support Assistant in Manchester

As an ASC Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students with Autism Spectrum Condition within our Alternative Learning Provision. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-on-one support to students with ASC, assisting them in their daily activities and academic tasks.
• Implementing individualised behaviour support plans, promoting positive behaviours and managing challenging behaviours effectively.
• Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment for students with ASC.
• Collaborating with the teaching staff and professionals to ensure consistent support and effective communication.
• Promoting independence, social skills development, and emotional well-being among students with ASC.
• Monitoring and documenting the progress of students, and providing feedback to the relevant stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition or related needs.
• Knowledge and understanding of ASC and strategies for managing behaviours.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and work as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting the individual needs of students with ASC.
• A commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity within the educational setting.

A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field is desirable but not essential. Training and ongoing professional development opportunities will be provided to support your role as an ASC Behaviour Support Assistant.
