Position Overview:
As an ASC Behaviour Intervention Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in offering specialised support and interventions for individuals on the autism spectrum. Working collaboratively with educators, families, and other professionals, you’ll design and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour, enhance communication, and facilitate the overall well-being of the students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored behaviour intervention plans for students on the autism spectrum.
- Work closely with individuals to understand their unique needs and challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and therapists to create a comprehensive support network.
- Provide guidance and training to educators and caregivers on effective autism-related strategies.
- Utilise evidence-based practices to address communication, social, and sensory needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour observations.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum, ideally in educational settings.
- Strong understanding of autism and its associated challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude in challenging situations.
- Ability to adapt interventions to cater to individual learning styles and needs.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in education, psychology, ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), or related fields are advantageous.
