Position Overview:

As a Behaviour Support Worker – SEMH, you will play a crucial role in providing one-on-one and group support to students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to create customized strategies that foster personal growth, academic success, and improved emotional well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with students, understanding their individual needs and challenges.
  • Implement personalised behaviour intervention plans to address social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and encouragement to students, promoting positive self-esteem and self-expression.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counsellors, and parents to create a holistic support network.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour observations.
  • Facilitate social skills development and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs, ideally in an educational or care setting.
  • Strong understanding of social, emotional, and mental health challenges faced by young individuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic nature and patience in addressing challenging situations.
  • Ability to adapt strategies to suit individual learning styles and needs.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in education, counselling, psychology, or related fields are desirable.
