Why Join Lexia Education Services

Category: Mentoring, Tuition

Choosing where to work isn’t just about salary or job titles.
Impact and real purpose should go a long way in your decision making, when looking for a new job.

At Lexia Education Services, we support vulnerable young people through specialist mentoring and alternative provision. But just as importantly, we support the people who work with us. Because when our team feels valued, and equipped with the right tools, young people feel the impact.
Let’s talk about why joining Lexia could be a great step for your career.

Make a Real Difference Every Day

At Lexia, building, and maintaining relationships is so important.

Working with young people who genuinely need consistent, trusted adults in their lives. Many of the young people we support have experienced exclusion, trauma, complex SEN/SEMH needs or disrupted education. Your presence can be the turning point.

With the right support, a young person who once struggled in school can:

  • Rebuild confidence
  • Re-engage with learning
  • Improve attendance
  • Develop improved emotional regulation

Without that support, the gap often widens.

When you join Lexia Education Services, you can be a part of that change. That shift in belief when a young person realises their potential.

This is where impact and purpose manifests itself in your work.

Specialist Training and Ongoing Support

We never expect you to “just get on with it.”

Working in alternative provision requires skill, understanding, and the right tools. That’s why we provide structured training and ongoing professional development.

When you join Lexia, you receive:

  • Safeguarding Training
  • Team-Teach TrainingPrevent Training (tutor specific)
  • First Aid Training

We believe strong support for staff creates strong outcomes for young people. We don’t require you to be perfect – but it goes a long way, being prepared and supported.

Flexible, Purpose-Driven Tutoring

Many people, who have previously worked as teachers or tutors, join Lexia because they want a better work life balance, without having to venture into a new career path, but to enhance their already established skillset.

Our roles often provide:

  • Term-time opportunities
  • Part-time and full-time options
  • Work that fits around family or further study
  • A balanced approach to workload

Flexibility allows you to be more present for these young people.

A Community That Prioritises Mental-Health

Working in education can often feel overwhelming, unsupportive and rigid.
Lexia attempts to approach things differently.
We strive to be approachable and stay grounded. We value communication and honesty.

You’ll be part of a team that:

  • Celebrates progress (big and small)
  • Shares challenges openly
  • Supports each other without judgement
  • Genuinely cares about outcomes

We avoid the corporate buzzwords. We believe in people.

Career Growth with Purpose

Joining Lexia Education Services isn’t just a short-term role. For many, it becomes a long-term pathway.

You’ll build experience in:

  • Alternative provision
  • Special educational needs support
  • Trauma-informed mentoring
  • Safeguarding practice
  • Multi-agency collaboration

These skills are highly valuable across education, youth work, and social care sectors.

Whether you’re a graduate exploring your path, an experienced education professional seeking change, or someone returning to work with renewed purpose – Lexia offers growth that aligns with impact.

Who Thrives at Lexia?

There isn’t one “type” of person who joins Lexia.

But the people who thrive here usually share a few qualities:

  • Patience
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Reliability
  • A calm presence

It’s not about having all the answers.
You need to care and be there for young people.

If you’ve ever thought, “I want to work somewhere I can genuinely help young people believe in themselves,” you’re already aligned with our mission.

Yes. All team members receive safeguarding and role-specific training, alongside ongoing support from our leadership team.
  • What makes Lexia different from other education roles?

The Bigger Picture

Across the UK, the need for high-quality alternative provision continues to grow. More young people require tailored support to stay engaged in education.
