Your Responsibilities as a Behaviour Mentor

  • Individualised Support
    Deliver tailored 1:1 and/or group mentoring for young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them stay engaged and feel supported.
  • Relationship Building
    Create strong, positive relationships with students to build trust, foster emotional safety, and encourage personal growth.
  • Creative Engagement
    Lead meaningful and fun activities such as sport, music, drama, and art to connect with students and encourage self-expression.
  • Emotional Regulation Support
    Help students understand and manage their emotions by teaching positive coping strategies and encouraging reflective thinking.
  • Behaviour Guidance
    Use de-escalation techniques, including Team Teach strategies, to support calm, respectful behaviour and reinforce emotional resilience.
  • Collaborative Approach
    Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure students receive well-rounded, consistent care and support.
