Role Overview: As an Alternative Education Intervention Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students who require specialised attention due to diverse learning needs or challenging circumstances. You will be part of a dedicated team that designs and implements personalised learning plans, fostering a positive learning environment that empowers students to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualised education plans for students, considering their unique learning styles and needs.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging students’ engagement and enthusiasm for learning.
- Provide one-on-one or small group mentoring and tutoring sessions to address academic, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and caregivers to ensure alignment between in-classroom and intervention strategies.
- Utilise creative teaching methods and alternative resources to enhance the learning experience.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting interventions as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and organised records of student interactions, progress, and development.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in alternative education and intervention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field
- Proven experience working with students in alternative learning settings, special education, or intervention programs.
- Strong understanding of diverse learning styles, behavioural challenges, and emotional needs.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, parents, and educational professionals.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
- Flexibility and adaptability in tailoring approaches to individual student needs.
- Experience with creative and innovative teaching methods is a plus.
