A Day in the Life of a Lexia Youth Mentor
As a Youth Mentor with Lexia Education Services, your role will be dynamic, impactful, and deeply rewarding. Here’s what you can expect:
- Provide Pastoral Support and Build Meaningful Connections
Establish trust and develop supportive relationships with students to offer emotional guidance and mentorship. - Engage Students Through Activities
Connect with young people through creative and physical activities like sports, music, and dance, offering alternative ways for them to express themselves and learn. - Promote Mental Health and Wellbeing
Create safe, open spaces for discussions around mental health, self-esteem, and resilience, equipping students to overcome challenges and build a positive self-image. - Support Academic, Social, and Emotional Growth
Encourage academic achievement and social development while providing emotional support to help students navigate their challenges. - Work with Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
As part of our inclusive approach, you’ll also work with students with SEN, tailoring your support to each individual’s unique needs and ensuring all students have the opportunity to thrive.

- Comprehensive, High-Quality Training
– All mentors receive FREE Level 2 Team Teach training in positive behavior management, de-escalation, and physical intervention techniques. This training, valued at £1,500, ensures that you have the skills to support and manage challenging situations confidently and compassionately.
– Additional training and professional development opportunities are provided to ensure you’re always equipped with the latest knowledge in mentorship and educational support. - Competitive Compensation and Benefits
– Long-term Youth Mentor assignments are compensated between £106.50 and £120 per day.
– Potential Permanent roles offer competitive salaries, with earnings up to £32,000 per annum, plus £0.45 per mile in travel expenses, ensuring your hard work is recognized and rewarded.
