Are you a dedicated and experienced professional with a passion for supporting individuals with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)? We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate PMLD Behaviour Intervention Specialist to join our team in Taunton, Somerset.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised behavioural support and intervention strategies for students with PMLD
  • Assess and monitor student behaviour, implementing appropriate interventions to promote positive outcomes
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement tailored behaviour support plans
  • Support students in developing social and communication skills, self-regulation, and independence
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters the overall well-being and development of students with PMLD
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and behaviour plans.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with individuals with PMLD, preferably within an educational or care setting
  • In-depth understanding of PMLD, including associated behavioural challenges and effective intervention strategies
  • Strong knowledge of sensory processing and communication techniques for individuals with PMLD
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt approaches to meet the individual needs of students
  • A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
