If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Behavioural Specialist Teaching Assistant – ADHD in Bath.

As a Behavioural Specialist Teaching Assistant – ADHD, you will play a vital role in supporting students with ADHD, helping them overcome barriers to learning and promoting their social and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ADHD, implementing behaviour management techniques and interventions
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualiSed support plans, addressing the specific needs of each student
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of strategies to improve focus, attention, and self-regulation skills
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting a sense of belonging and engagement for students with ADHD
  • Support students in developing social skills, self-esteem, and positive relationships with peers and teachers
  • Monitor and track student progress, collecting data and providing feedback to teachers and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as educational psychologists or therapists, to coordinate additional support and interventions.

Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in supporting students with ADHD, incorporating evidence-based strategies into daily practice.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Behavioural Specialist, preferably with students with ADHD
  • Strong understanding of ADHD and its impact on learning and behaviour
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and interventions specific to supporting students with ADHD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with students, teachers, and families
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate individual student needs
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with relevant research and practices.
